WOW-O

Lots has happened - as always I'm slacking on my blog :)

Found out today I'm going to be a for real Auntie!    I have one "niece" currently - my best friends absolutely adorable daughter!  Today I found out that my baby brothers girlfriend is pregnant so I'm going to have a real niece/nephew this winter!   I am super excited and disappointed all at the same time.  I'm super excited for all the obvious reasons but disappointed because they live about 10 states away!   I haven't seen my baby brother since 2006 and I've already missed a ridiculous amount of stuff in both his and our sisters lives and here it is, I'm going to miss even more :-/

So YAY and boo all at the same time :-/

satisfied.......

So today I finally finished an afghan I was working on for my oldest friend.

I don't get to see her as much as I want to. I know she has other people in her life that she is spends more of her time with and shares more of her life with and I know we have changed so much in our many, many years of friendship but I still consider her my best friend.

It has taken me well over a month to complete and considering it is my first adult sized afghan I am rather happy with it's outcome.   It is not perfect, and neither am I.

Snuggles Project

So I joined a group that makes blankets and toys for shelter animals, it is called The Snuggles Project.

http://www.snugglesproject.org/

Anyone that knows me knows that I have four cats.  Three of them were shelter babies that my boyfriend and I fell in love with and scooped up.  My fourth, and oldest kitty, was a little feral kitty that I found around my first apartment.

Having shelter babies and knowing people who have worked in shelters, this project means a lot to me.  I can't take everyone home like I would love to do, but at least I can try and give them some comfort before they find their forever home.

Over the course of time, you will see pictures of some of my Snuggles that I donate.

Hello....

Hello to anyone who decides they have the time to read my rants and raves and check out the misc. crafty stuff I do.

I have multiple creative outlets because I hate sitting still and I always need something to do.  I'm a photographer, a knitter, a crocheter and a sewer.  I will try most crafty things out there.  I'm NOT a scrapbooker though...I just can never make my pages look good.   I'll stick to taking the pictures.

The outlet that I am most passionate about though would be photography.  I had always loved to take pictures but it has only been the past couple of years that I am actually trying to do something with it.  I've recently signed up for an on-line photography course at NYIP.com because I don't have the time to actually go to school.
If you're interested you can check out my photography site here - http://doublejphotos.zenfolio.com/

I've recently learned how to knit and crochet and I have become a yarn addict.   This site will be mostly dedicated to my many yarn projects over time.

As of not this is all I have to say....my postings I'm sure will be far and few between as I have never been good at keeping a journal, but I will post when I can.
